Using Arduino IDE Ver 1.0 with gizDuino

e-Gizmo gizDuino board, an Arduino compatible platform, has a minor issue with the older Arduino IDE ; a resistor R5 has to be added in the reset circuit to make the board work under Windows Operating system. With Arduino IDE running under Linux, this resistor is not needed and must actually be removed.

Arduino IDE Version 1.0 apparently got this fixed, hence the gizDuino will now work with either Windows or Linux version, but only if R5 is removed from the circuit.

Latest gizDuino boards sold after December 1, 2011 are packaged with IDE version 1.0 and had been gotten rid of R5. If you have a gizDuino board purchased before that date and you want to use IDE Version 1.0, you have to remove R5 by yourself. If you think you cannot  do that, bring the board at e-Gizmo, this will be removed for you free of charge.
